While on a plane to New York, Chris Paul discovered that he would be traded.

As a part of a trade that will put Bradley Beal on the Suns’ team after being with the Wizards, Paul, 38, may be going to a third team.

While on Good Morning America, on Monday, Michael Strahan asked Paul about the trade.

“I was surprised, too. I found out on the plane yesterday flying here for this. You know, in this league, anything can happen. So, you just figure out what’s next,” Paul stated.

On Sunday, it was announced that Beal, a three-time All-Star shooting guard, would be traded from Washington and headed to Phoenix to play with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

Paul, Landry Shamet, and several other second-round picks and pick swaps were, at first, said to be headed to the Wizards. However, that hasn’t fully gone through because it isn’t known if a another team could come onboard to get Paul.

From, 2011-17, Paul played for the Clippers. The team went to the play-offs each each season that he played with with them; however, they never went past the second round.

In 2020, after playing with the Rockets and Thunder, Paul was traded to the Suns.

Now, with the 2023 NBA Draft set to begin on Thursday, and on June 30, the NBA free agency will begin, teams are attempting to get their rosters in place quickly.
