Charges Against Ex Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin Upgraded In George Floyd’s Death

The charges for Ex Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin have been upgraded to second degree murder and charges have been filed against the other three officers involved in George Floyd’s death.

Derek Chauvin is now being charged with second degree murder without intent, third degree murder and second degree manslaughter and his bail is now set at $1 million.
The other officers involved Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng have now been charged with aiding and abetting second degree murder and aiding and abetting second degree manslaughter.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said
“I strongly believe that these developments are in the interest of justice for Mr. Floyd, his family, our community and our state”, while he was announcing the new charges filed against the officers Wednesday.
