Chad Isaak, Quadruple Murderer, Takes His Own Life In Prison

2.8kviews

In April 2019, Chad Isaak viciously killed four people at RJR Maintenance and Management in Mandan, North Dakota.

Now, authorities say that he has taken his own life in prison.

The 48-year-old had been given four life sentences without the chance of parole. This was in relation to the death of the company’s co-owner Robert Flaker, 52. Also killed were workers Adam Fuehrer, 42; Bill Cobb, 50; and Lois Cobb, 45.

Close to 5:45 p.m., on Sunday, a North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper responded to a call at the State Penitentiary in Bismarck. The call was in relation to a resident who had hurt himself. The trooper was then informed that Chad Isaak had been transported to a hospital by ambulance. He was declared deceased at 6:24 p.m.

Officials haven’t disclosed how Isaak hurt himself or the cause of his death, but an investigation is continuing.

During his trial in August, Isaak, a chiropractor, was said to have shot three of the victims and stabbed a fourth one over 100 times.

No motive for the killings was given, but Isaak resided on property owned by RJR. DNA, fiber, and a recording linked him to the killings and showed premeditation. It was also shown that the fatal injuries were committed by someone in the medical field.

Some items that were located in his home included spent ammunition casings, a knife, and firearm parts that contained a bleach smell.

Defense lawyers had argued that detectives only focused on Isaak and never looked into other questionable suspects.

After being sentenced to 16 years in prison, Isaak appealed his conviction in early July. Prosecutors hadn’t had the opportunity to formally answer to the appeal before Isaak is said to have committed suicide.

“We would like to express our condolences to his family, as, despite everything, he was a son, brother, and father,” stated the state’s assistant attorney. She added that Isaak’s death “in this manner doesn’t bring resolution.”
