Britney Spears Wins Another Victory In Court

On Thursday, Britney Spear’s father, Jamie, agreed to stop being her conservator.

Under the conservatorship, her estate, financial assets, and personal money was handled by her father and lawyer. Last year, it was reviewed four times and kept in place each time.

In 2008, the conservatorship became active after Britney was put into two mental health facilities.

In June, a judge allowed her to choose her own lawyer. Additionally, Britney stated to the judge, “I just want my life back. The conservatorship should end. I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive.”

The judge also allowed the another party in charge of the conservatorship to resign as head of the estate. This left her father as the only other person in charge of her finances. However, Jodi Montgomery still oversees her personal matters.

Britney told the judge that her desire is for her father to be punished for ” conservatorship abuse.”
