22-year-old Amir Locke, a Black man, was shot and killed by Minneapolis police officers. The incident happened while a no-knock warrant was being performed. Locke’s relatives state that he got the gun legally.

Bodycam footage shows Locke sleeping as officers went into a residence on Wednesday.

“Police! Search Warrant! Hands! Hands! Hands,” one officer screamed. “Get on the fu**ing ground,” another officer yells as they approach the man lying down in blankets.

One officer is then seen kicking the couch which forced the man to awaken and see the authorities surrounding him.

Locke then attempts to stand up, still covered in blankets, and was observed holding a gun. Then, the officers are heard firing three shots.

Locke’s fatal shooting has caused a lot of concerns for his family and others. They simply don’t agree with Minneapolis’ warrant policy.

The warrant served that ended with Locke being fatally shot was in connection to a homicide. Locke was not identified in the warrant.

The state’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is now investigating the matter.

No-knock warrants continue to be a controversial issue when considering how police departments and cities decide to use them.
