The body of an adult male was discovered at White Rock Creek in Dallas on Sunday morning, which was the day after the area experienced an immense amount of rain.
On Saturday at 10:32 p.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue units responded to White Rock Creek, 4945 W. Lawther Drive, to search for a man who was swept into the water while crossing the creek on foot. A woman, who was with him at the time, called 911 and remained on-scene.
Due to the high water levels, the search was conducted with boats, rescue crews, heavy equipment, and drones through the night without success.
The following morning, Dallas Police and Fire units resumed the search. With calmer waters and lower levels this time, search crews located the deceased man matching the victim’s description around 11:30 a.m.
He was discovered approximately 100 yards from where he was last seen.
His body has been sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner for identification and official cause of death.
