Blind 15 Year-Old Is A Starting Quarterback

At 7 years-old, Jasen Bracy lost his ability to see. As a toddler, he had developed retinal cancer.

Despite that, the 15 year-old has always shown a great interest in playing sports.

When he got his own phone, he began contacting coaches in his area to see how he could get an opportunity to play football.

Then, the coach of the Modesto Raiders, David Nichols, decided to give him a chance.

Bracy started to analyze where every player should be and every play. He did so well that the coach made him the primary quarterback. His dad helps him by directing him on the sidelines with a walkie talkie that Bracy can hear from his helmet.

Recently, he helped his team win a game against another team that declined his offer to join them.

Bracy said that his dream is to reach the NFL. “I don’t even want a team to know that I can’t see because they might ease up on me,” he said.
