Black Woman Moved To Back Of Plane To Allow Room For Two White Women On Delta Airlines

Camille Henderson, a Black woman from Alameda, California, was flying from Atlanta, Georgia to San Francisco on Delta Airlines in early February.

She claims that while during the flight, she was kicked to the back of the aircraft to allow room for two white travelers.

Henderson says that about an hour after the plane took off, she was sitting in a seat window, 15A, and was then told to go back to row 34.

She says two white women expressed issues about the seats that they were sitting in. Those seats were 15B and 15C, middle and aisle seats which is the row where Henderson was sitting.

It was reported that the women stated that they should have been in first-class. However, Delta employees wouldn’t approve of that seating because the women didn’t provide physical tickets.

As Henderson attempted to sleep, a flight attendant disturbed her, asking her to switch seats in order for the two women to have more space.

“Me, as a Black woman, I was displaced to make two white women feel comfortable,” Henderson stated.

She added that she did, in fact move, so she wouldn’t be perceived as the “angry Black woman.” Henderson said that she was offered an alcoholic beverage, but she doesn’t drink.

Now, she says all she wants from Delta is an apology for the humiliation.

In a statement, Delta responded saying, they don’t have place for discrimination in their company, and they are investigating the matter.
