Axios has reported that President Joe Biden may drop out of the November 5 presidential race. This move could occur before the weekend is over.
Included in the announcement were multiple “top Democrats” that were identified.
According to a new poll conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center For Public Affairs Research, almost 2/3 of Democrats want Biden to pull back from the race.
The main concern is whether Biden could actually win against ex-President Trump in this election. If Trump were to win, the other worry would be Republican congressional wins, as well. It is reported that Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi informed Biden that this could happen if he didn’t drop out.
Many have cited that Biden’s weak debate performance on June 27 and the lack of excitement in regards to Biden’s campaign have caused concerns.
Recent polls have revealed that Trump has about a 1.9% lead over Biden.
