Barricaded Situation In Honey Grove Has Ended; Suspect Dead

An officer involved shooting/ barricade person situation came to an end Wednesday morning after the suspect killed himself.
Officers responded to a domestic call Tuesday, June 15 on the 800 block of Hickory St.
Upon arrival officers encounter a male subject said to be armed with a rifle.
The suspect began firing at officers.
Precinct 3 constables came out to assist and at this time a Honey Grove officer was struck.
Constables were able to grab the officer and get him to safety while still being shot at.
The officer was taken from the scene and flown to a Plano hospital, where he is in stable condition.
Multiple law enforcement agencies came out to assist and help evacuate the neighborhood.
It was reported the suspect died from a self inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday morning.
