A male suspect was arrested after leading police on chase and barricading himself inside a car Tuesday night.
According to reports officers were conducting a routine traffic stop on the 5100 block of Lancaster Rd at a Walgreens when the suspect Lamar Brisbane stopped and told officers that he needed help.
At that point an unknown person driving a dark colored suv pulled up behind Brisbane telling police that he had just robbed someone and stole their car.
Three additional witnesses also ran across the street and informed officers that Brisbane had just robbed someone and taken their vehicle.
During that time Brisbane fled the scene and while officers were in pursuit the suspect vehicle lost one of its tires.
Officers attempted a felony traffic stop but the suspect continued driving striking another vehicle on Lancaster Rd.
The vehicle then stopped on a DART train track and became unmovable.
Brisbane then refused to exit his vehicle, he pulled out a handgun and began pointing it at officers as well as bystanders standing around.
SWAT was called out to assist with the barricaded suspect and after multiple attempts to get the suspect out the car he finally exited the vehicle fleeing from the scene.
Officers were able to arrest the suspect within 40 feet of the scene.
He was transported to a nearby hospital for observation before being transported to Lew Sterrett.
This investigation remains ongoing.
