26 year-old Lavrius Watson worked as a babysitter in Pennsylvania. He is suspected of indulging in a cookie containing marijuana with the child’s mother and then killing her. He told authorities that he had a bad response to the edible.
Watson faces a charge of criminal homicide in relation to the killing of Elizabeth Bennett Leonard. Her 10 year-old child was in the residence at the time.
Saturday night, the man dialed 911, and when police arrived, they found the woman, 41, deceased in her home. She had been stabbed severely in the stomach.
The officers witnessed Watson’s bloody clothing and heard him say, ‘Why did I do that?’
He told authorities that after babysitting for the woman they ate the marijuana-laced cookie combination. He then remembered getting a knife out of the drawer and stabbing her.
Officials said that Watson was crying uncontrollably on the phone with dispatchers when he sought assistance for Leonard.
