Authorities Discover Apology Letter From Drug Cartel After Americans Killed In Mexico

1.2kviews

A copy of a letter said to be from a Mexican drug cartel details an apology. This is for the fatal kidnapping that left two Americans and another woman dead last Friday.

The letter is allegedly from the Gulf Cartel and came from a law enforcement source in Tamaulipas where the abductions occurred. The letter states that those who were responsible have been handed over to law enforcement officials.

“We have decided to turn over those who were directly involved and responsible in the events, who at all times acted under their own decision-making and lack of discipline,” it read.

Shaeed Woodard and Zindell Brown are the two Americans that were killed. Latavia McGee and Eric Williams survived the attack and were transported to a hospital in Texas on Wednesday.

The Americans had gone to Mexico with McGee for cosmetic surgery, reports indicate.

The attorney general in Tamaulipas stated that the abduction seemed to be a matter of mistaken identity as the group was thought to be a rival Haitian gang.

With the letter was also an image of five men who were tied up, laying face-down. One source reported that the men had been discovered inside of a car with the letter. Police has been searching for that car.

The letter noted that the men had gone against the cartel’s code of “respecting the life and well-being of the innocent.”

Only “Jose N,” 24, has been named as a person apprehended in connection with the incident. He is said to have been watching over the victim’s at a residence near Matamoros.

There has been no confirmation by authorities of any other individuals being taken into custody in relation to the matter. There also hasn’t been any confirmation regarding the validity of the letter.
