Early Thursday, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the back twice and is possibly paralyzed. The incident occurred in southeast Houston, by a gas station, near Clearwood St, close to midnight.

Authorities say that the teen had gone to the gas station to purchase a bag of chips and a drink. When his card was declined, he went to another location across the road.

Police say then someone quickly approached him and shot him. The assailant then stood over him, kicking him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

A white vehicle had also come to the location at the same time that the shooter appeared, but it isn’t known if it is linked to the incident.

Officials don’t know what caused the shooting nor do they have a clear description of the suspect. They were informed that he was a large person, wearing a gray or white hoodie.

Detectives say that they do have camera footage of the occurrence and are reviewing it. They are hopeful that the suspect will be captured.
