An arrest warrant has been issued for a Dallas police officer for fabricating physical evidence by DPD’s Public Integrity Department.

On September 21 the department obtained a warrant for officer Jacob Hughes.
This incident stems from an illegal search that resulted in a Dallas resident being arrested.
Hughes has been with the department since 2016 and is assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division.

In addition, the investigation also resulted in Grand Jury Referrals for officer Nathan Newman, officer Bradley Williams, officer Thomas Foster, officer Moses Munoz and officer Dylan Nelson.
All officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Chief Eddie Garcia released a statement saying, “Although I am deeply disheartened by what this investigation revealed. I am proud of the internal control measures performed by the supervisors that exposed the actions of those involved. When we work together and hold all officers accountable for their actions, we build trust among ourselves and the community we serve.”
