Arrest Made After Body Found in Shallow Grave

A deceased body was located on county road 2301, in Van Zandt county, in a shallow grave.

On Saturday, July 31, 2021, Sheriff Hendrix called the Texas Rangers and District Attorney Tonda Curry for help. While investigating, they discovered that the murder happened in the city of Dallas.

When called, Dallas PD didn’t want to be apart of the case. Thus, Sheriff Hendrix directed authorities to Dallas to secure the location of the murder in the Pleasant Grove part of town.

The body then was sent for an autopsy. It was discovered that LaDarrion Perkins had been shot and killed by Casey Lynn Spriggs. After the killing, she drove his body to Van Zandt County and buried it.

“I am impressed and appreciative at the outcome of this investigation. I want to thank the Texas Rangers…..for their quick response …,”Sheriff Hendrix said.

The developments are still occurring, and more apprehensions could be made.
