Armed Security Officer Accidentally Shoots Woman While Stopping Two Car Thieves

Dallas police are investigating after a woman was shot while inside her apartment over the weekend.

The incident happened around 10:45 p.m. when officers responded to a shooting call on the 9900 block of Bruton Rd.

Upon arriving they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound inside her apartment. She was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.

While investigating officers learned that an armed uniform security officer witnessed two suspects trying to break into a car. When he approached the suspects one of them pulled out a handgun.

The security officer pulled out his weapon and fired multiple rounds striking an innocent woman.

The suspects were arrested and taken into custody. Their names have not been released at this time due to their ages.

This investigation is ongoing.
