Arlington police chief says he does not believe bullying played a part in the Timberview High shooting two weeks ago.
Mansfield ISD held a town meeting Thursday to discuss the recent shooting that injured three students and a teacher.
Timothy Simpkins family claimed he had been a victim of bullying and that’s what led to the shooting.
After weeks of investigating Arlington police said they did not believe Simpkins was a victim of bullying.
Arlington police chief Al Jones said in a statement, “We can’t and we won’t say that there was any evidence of bullying that day or any other day. I also want to say with certainty that Mr. Simpkins is involved in high-risk activity, and that high-risk activity led to the disagreement within the community.”
Since the shooting on October 6, Mansfield ISD has taken several safety precautions.
They have also added more police on campus and they’re training more staff in helping with security measures.
