5.1kviews

An Arlington business owner was arrested after he shot a former employee Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to a call on the 900 block of W. Division Street from a business owner requesting assistance.

While in route to the scene officers received another call from the same location that shots had been fired.

Once they arrived they found a 46 year old man lying on the ground unresponsive. Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Authorities spoke with the owner of the establishment, 42 year old Javier Arredondo, who told officers that he had fired the employee and that the employee would not leave.

While investigating officers learned that after the employee was terminated he and Arredondo got into a verbal argument before he was shot.

During the investigation officers found no weapons on the employee and found no evidence or signs of physical assault towards Arredondo.

Arredondo was later arrested and booked into Arlington City jail for murder.
