Amber Norsworthy, of Rankin County, Mississippi, was alerted through her cellphone that somebody was attempting to track her location.

Norsworthy stated that while she was with her children on December 27, her cell phone made a sound that it had never made previously.

“Unknown Accessory Detected,” the notification read. “This item has been moving with you for a while. The owner can see its location,” it added.

Norsworthy then determined that whoever was tracking her began to look into her location at 1:47 p.m. as her family was visiting a park. Then, her location was checked again at 3:08 p.m. while they were in their residence.

Norsworthy disabled the tracker and contacted authorities. Then, she learned that the device was an Apple AirTag.

“it was very unsettling, and it still makes me nervous. It showed the entire route they followed/tracked me,” she noted on a Facebook post.

Although she looked for the device with the assistance of officers and neighbors, she wasn’t able to find it.

In the end, Norsworthy said that Apple support did acknowledge that the device wasn’t tracking her anymore. Apple has stated that the AirTags are ” a super easy way to keep track of your stuff.”
