Another Mail Carrier Robbed In D-FW Metroplex, $150K Reward Being Offered

1.9kviews

On January 17, at about 4:30 p.m., an armed robbery of a mail carrier took place in Fort Worth.

Now, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information that leads to the apprehension of the suspect.

A picture of the suspect was released by the postal inspectors and shows the individual carrying a firearm. He is said to be 5 feet 8 inches tall, in his late teens to early 20s, with a slender build. He had been wearing a gray jacket, black pants, white shoes, and an orange mask.

In recent weeks, another mail carrier was robbed while delivering mail, as well, in Dallas.

The offenders are said to be stealing mail and going after carriers’ “arrow keys” in order to get inside mailboxes. USPS officials say that the criminals want the mail to commit financial offenses like modifying checks to get money.

Robbing a mail carrier is a federal felony and could result in up to 10 years in prison.

Anyone with details about the robberies is urged to call the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455.
