An 8-year-old boy was beaten to death by a martial arts instructor

An 8-year-old boy was beaten to death by his martial arts instructor one day after joining the class.

The young boy’s identity is unknown but the child joined the Chongde Juying Martial Arts Sports Club in Qingdao, Shandong, to take a self-defense class earlier this month, he died one day after joining the class due to injuries he sustained at the club, reported the Messenger, who cited Chinese media.

The boy’s parents received a  video of him training that was troubling because their son was pale and had multiple bruises, said the report.

Video of the incident was posted on social media outlets and reportedly show the boy collapsing on the floor. A woman could be heard yelling in the background that if the boy kept collapsing his “mum has told me she will not pick you up for one year.”

In addition, the video reportedly shows a man trying to prop the child up, while the boy can be heard saying he was kicked by his instructor.

The boy’s heart stopped 20 minutes before arriving at the hospital, where he was declared deceased upon arrival.

The incident resulted in arrests of individuals linked to the club which included the club owners, said the Chenyang branch of Qingdao’s Public Security Bureau. The three individuals will face criminal charges related to “intentional harm leading to death.”

In the meantime, the club has been shut down as the investigation continues.
