Alec Baldwin Shoots Prop Gun On Set And Kills Crew Member

On October 21, 2021, officials were called to an incident on the set of Alec Baldwin’s movie, “Rust.” Someone was suffering from a gunshot wound. ” The location was at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, close to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Two individuals, from the production crew, were transported to the hospital. One of the people, a 42 year-old woman who was air-lifted, died from her injuries.

Authorities have stated that Baldwin was using a firearm, which was a prop, while filming. The weapon was discharged and Halyna Hutchins, director of photography, and Joel Souza, the 42 year-old director, were both struck. He was taken by ambulance and underwent surgery.

A spokesperson from the production stated the tragedy happened during the “misfire of a prop gun with blanks.” They also said the production has stopped for now.

No charges have been filed at this time; however, criminal investigators were called to the location.

An investigation into the matter is on-going.
