Ahmaud Arbery’s Murderers Sentenced To Life In Prison

Three men have been sentenced after being convicted of killing Ahmaud Arbery.

Arbery was chased and followed as he jogged in a neighborhood in Brunswick, Georgia. The incident occurred in February 2020.

Travis McMichael, 35, was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole. He fatally shot Arbery. He was convicted of malice murder, four counts of felony murder, false imprisonment, and more.

Gregory McMichael is an ex-police officer and Travis’s 65-year-old father. He was also sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He was found not guilty of malice murder but guilty of felony murder charges.

53-year-old William “Roddie” Bryan is the McMichaels’ neighbor. He was given life in prison with the possibility of parole. He was found guilty of three felony murder charges and aggravated assault with his pickup truck. False imprisonment and criminal intent to commit a felony were added to the charges.

All three men will also face federal hate crime charges and will go to trial February 7.
