NCAA champion, Taliyah Brooks, fainted and couldn’t complete my hair the heptathlon on Sunday in the Olympic Track and Field trials.
Brooks asked to be re-entered in the competition for the javelin and 800 meters. Her request was approved after she was taken off the track in a wheelchair and obtained a medical check. However, she ultimately chose to withdraw from the event.
The temperature on the track was more than 150 degrees on Sunday.
Brook’s agent stated she was doing “o.k.” after she fainted. She scored 4, 908 points in 5 out of 7 heptathlon events. She was in fourth place at the time.
All the events were eventually postponed until the evening to allow the temperature to cool down.
The crowd was asked to leave until the trials resumed.
