Actor Philip Baker Hall Dies At 90

Philip Baker Hall has died at the age of 90.

Hall played roles in films and theater and starred in Paul Thomas Anderson’s first films. He is known for his role in searching for an overdue library book on “Seinfeld.”

“His voice at the end was still just as powerful,” said his wife Holly Wolfle Hall. She added that Hall passed away on Sunday and had been doing fine a few weeks before.

In 1993, Hall played in the short film, “Cigarettes & Coffee.” This got him to the Sundance Film Festival. In 1997, he played in “Hard Eight” which sent his career soaring. Later, Hall was casted in “Boogie Nights” and “Magnolia.”

Many are familiar with Hall because of his role on “Seinfeld.” Then, he was the character Lt. Joe Bookman, a library detective who hunts Seinfeld down for an overdue book, “Tropic of Cancer.”

Hall also played a role on ABC’s popular show, “Modern Family.”

Hall leaves behind his wife of 40 years, four daughters, four grandchildren, and a brother.
