Actor J. Alphonse from P Valley has been receiving backlash and harsh criticism from people who thinks his gay role is going too far since he is straight in real life.

In season 2 of P Valley there is a graphic scene where J. Alphonse playing Murda and John Clarence who plays Big Teak made the headlines.

People has questioned how actor J. Alphonse can be so comfortable portraying a queer character since he is straight and married in real life. He says he has played many homosexual loving roles and thanks his wife for her support.

Alphonse made a tweet to address all of the harsh criticism. “As an actor, the ultimate goal is to be as believable as possible. Relax, precise, fierce. Although @PValleySTARZ is a fictional story, I’m grateful for the real conversations that are being had. Job well done. #PValleySTARZ #LILMURDA #steadygrind”.

He also lets it be known that the checks are the main reason he does what he does and reminds people that his very real wife and kids needs to be taken care of and that is what P Valley has allowed him to do.

In an Instagram live he also addresses people directly letting them know despite the negativity he knows he is impacting people positively and is making a change.

“Get your bread and know that you touching people,” he told fans in his live. “I stay true to who I am, and I stay true to what I got going on… Which is taking care of my kids… my family”
