The death of a person who died shortly after getting the vaccine for COVID-19 is being investigated. This happened in Placer County just last week.
Placer County Sheriff’s office released a statement in conjunction with County Health officials saying the person passed away Thursday, just hours after getting the vaccine.
However, the vaccine was not administered by Placer County Public Health, reports show, and no additional information has been released as to the whereabouts of where the vaccine was administered.
It is reported that the person did however, had the virus back in late December.
There is no information available if the had received any treatment for the virus. Placer County officials are saying, “any reports surrounding the cause of death are premature, pending the outcome of the investigation.”
The Center of Disease Control and Prevention are still recommending everyone to get vaccinated regardless of previously having COVID-19. This is a severe heath risk associated with the virus and reinfection is very possible but very rare.
The CDC states that COVID-19 patients who has been previously treat with convalescent plasma or monoclonal antibodies should wait up to 90 days before getting the vaccine.
Investigators states that local, state, and federal agencies are working hard on this case to figure out what went wrong.
