A Man Is In Custody And Another Dead After Shooting In North Dallas

One man is dead and another is in custody after a man claims he was being robbed in North Dallas.
Officers responded to a shooting call on the 9600 block of Ferris Branch Blvd and when rent arrived they found Rufus White,45 suffering from a gunshot wound on the sidewalk.
He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses told police that a man in a dark gray charger and the victim had shot at each other before the Charger fled the scene.
Officers later pulled the Charger over on the 10000 block of Ferndale Rd and the suspect Derrick Youngblood,43 in the passenger seat with a gunshot wound in his hand.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for his injuries and then transported to headquarters for questioning.
Youngblood then told officers that he sold drugs and the victim came into his home with a gunshot and robbed him so as they were leaving he chased the victim and opened fire on him.
Youngblood was booked into Dallas County jail and is facing a murder charge.
It is unclear if the female driver of the Dodge Charger that Youngblood was in will face any charges.
This shooting investigation is ongoing.
