Tamyra Mensah-Stock, a US wrestler, gained a historic gold medal win on Tuesday. She competed in the 68-kilogram freestyle division.

“I love representing the USA. I love living there. I love it, and I’m so happy I get to represent USA,” she exclaimed.

Mensah-Stock is the first black woman and second woman ever to get a gold medal in wrestling for the USA.

While making a heart with her hands and an American flag on her shoulders, she said, “It feels amazing!”

People cheered her on as the Texas  grappler showed patriotism to this country. This comes after a few other Olympians have turned their backs on the flag during the national anthem.

“Finally some authentic response from a real human being for once,” someone tweeted.

She has been wrestling since 10th grade and said “she always knew she could do it.”
