Jackson Sparks, 8, is the sixth person to die, following a crash at a Christmas parade in Wisconsin on Sunday.

The announcement was made on Tuesday as suspect Darrell Brooks, 39, made his initial court appearance. He was facing five counts of intentional homicide.

Now, authorities are preparing to add one more of these charges to his case.

Jackson and his 12 year-old brother, Tucker, were wounded when Brooks slammed his SUV into the crowd. Doctors performed brain surgery on Jackson Sunday night, but he died Tuesday afternoon. Additionally, Tucker suffered road rash and a fractured skull. He has been released from the hospital.

62 individuals were injured during the incident. It was said in court that Brooks steered his car side-to-side in what appears to be an intentional act in hitting parade goers.

Virginia Sorenson, 79; LeAnna Owen, 71, Tamara Durand, 52; Jane Kulich, 52; and Wilhelm Hospel, 81, also lost their lives.

Because of the nature of the charges, Brooks’s bail was set at $5 million.
