A 10-year-old UK boy named Teddy is leading a campaign for Apple to redesign its “nerd face” emoji.
The child is considering it offensive due to prominent front teeth and thick frames. Teddy, a proud glasses-wearer, initiated an online petition stating that the current design could be insulting to those who wear glasses.
With nearly 2,000 signatures, Teddy has proposed a “genius emoji” featuring thin frames and a smiley face. Teddy’s teacher assisted in launching the petition.
Apple has not provided a response as of now.
