9 Year Old Facing Criminal Charges After Beating Her 4 Year Old Brother to Death With A Broomstick

A 9 year old Alabama girl is facing criminal charges in connection with her 4 year old brother’s death.

According to reports the incident happened on February,3. Authorities were called to the home around 8am for a medical emergency involving a child.

When they arrived at the home they found a 4 year old boy unresponsive inside. Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the young boy dead at the scene.

During the course of the investigation officers learned that the boy had suffered severe signs of abuse.

The boy’s caregiver Yolanda Coale,53 told authorities she was in another room when she heard the young boy screaming.

When she walked into the room she found his 9 year old sister beating him with a broomstick.

The 9 year old was charged with assault. Coale was arrested the next day and charged with aggravated child abuse. She remains in custody on a $150,000 bond.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the child’s actual cause of death. No one has been charged with the murder.

This investigation remains ongoing.
