The city of Forney has benefitted greatly from people leaving dense urban areas and heading to the suburbs during the pandemic.
Now, Megatel Homes LLc is constructing the Bellagio Lagoon Community in Forney. Megatel is one of the biggest private builders of homes in the country.
In a Homes.com ranking, Forney was listed as no. 2 on The Best Suburbs to Move to in 2021. This was based on the cost of homes, the quality of education, and the rates of crime in that area.
This will be a $800 million project that will entail a manmade lagoon that has white sand beaches. The homes will be approximately $349,000 to $600,000 and will be sized between 1,800 to 4,200 sq. ft.
Other amenities will include kayaking, sand activities, a swim-up bar, restaurant and bar, teen center, bowling area, and much more.
The first phase of the community, about 400 homes, is expected to be finished by April 2022.
