A man was killed Saturday morning in an officer involved shooting after he stabbed a woman in a Walgreens parking lot.
Officers responded to a suspicious person call on the 8600 block of Braeswood Blvd at a Fiesta grocery store of a man soliciting customers for money with a knife.
When officers arrived they suspect had fled the scene to a nearby Walgreens and when employees saw the suspect they notified authorities.
Police say Rosalie Cook,80 was walking back to her car from the store when the suspect stabbed her in the chest and jumped in her car and attempted to start it.
Police ordered the suspect to get out of the car and when he did he charged at the officer with a knife and was shot.
The officer discharged two rounds and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cook was transported to a nearby hospital where she died from her injuries.
