8-Year-Old Child Shot and Killed by His Little Brother

An 8-year-old boy is dead after his 5-year-old brother shot him at their Arkansas home Thursday afternoon.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call from a residence in the 2700 block of Shannon Valley Road.

Inside the home, deputies found an 8-year-old boy with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to Sheriff Lafayette Woods, the gun was fully loaded when deputies arrived on the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office will conduct tests on the gun to determine ownership. At this time, investigators believe it was an accident.
