On Wednesday afternoon, eight students were shot, resulting in two students being in critical condition, at a SEPTA bus stop in Philadelphia.

At about 3:00 p.m., several people opened fire while students were trying to board a bus. Three people had gotten out of a car, that was stationed close to the SEPTA bus stop, and started shooting more than 30 rounds.

Although a SEPTA bus had bullet holes, no passengers on the bus were harmed. This is the second shooting involving a SEPTA bus this week.

“It’s hard to sit here and see, in three days, 11 juveniles shot, who were coming and going from school,” said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel.

Authorities say that they are looking into the matter to determine if it is connected to a shooting that happened on Monday at a SEPTA location. Then, a 17-year-old high school student was fatally shot. Two others were grazed by bullets.

There will now be more of a police presence this week, close to schools, near dismissal times.
