Officials in Kentucky say that a woman died and two others were hurt when a restaurant sign fell on their vehicle.

The Elizabethtown Police Department noted that a Denny’s restaurant sign struck a vehicle that had 3 individuals inside of it. This occured in a parking lot on Thursday afternoon.

Bystanders reported that the wind seemed to have made the sign fall from its post prior to it hitting the car.

Police say that three adults were inside of the vehicle at the time, including a 72-year-old woman. She was transported to a medical facility where she was later declared deceased.

On Friday, the woman was identified as Lillian Curtis.

Authorities say that all the individuals inside of the vehicle had to be extracted from the car by first responders and transported to a medical facility.

The conditions of the other two people weren’t released.
