7 Year Old Harris County Boy Fatally Shot While Sleeping In His Bed During Drive By

A 7-year-old boy was shot and killed inside of his home during a drive-by shooting Sunday night.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the 13800 block of McNair Street around 10:45 p.m where they found 7-year-old Paul Vasquez shot in the chest.

The little boy was sleeping in his bed when multiple gunshots were fired into the house from outside. One bullet went through Paul’s bedroom and struck him in the chest. After getting shot, the boy was able to get out of bed and tell his mom that he got hit, before he collapsed.

The 7-year-old was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the suspects were in a white or grey colored four-door sedan. They are working to gather any surveillance footage that captured the incident.

At the time of the shooting, the little boy’s mom and two older brothers were home.

Authorities are working to determine a motive for the shooting. No suspects have been identified at this time.
