6,000 Migrants Taken Away From Texas Border

2kviews

U.S. officials said that 6,000 migrants from Haiti and other places have been removed from a makeshift shelter under a bridge by the Texas border.

600 homeland security officers have been put into place. This is expected to be a fast and large amount of expulsions of migrants and refugees in a long time.

On Saturday, there were 14,872 migrants at the bridge. The U.S. has said the number of flights to Haiti and the pace of them will increase.

Mexico has also stated that they will remove any migrants there, as well.

These expulsions are permissible under a pandemic health order put in place by former President Trump in 2020.

The plan is to send migrants back to Haiti on 7 different flights a day, beginning on Wednesday.

President Biden has said the entire area should be cleared out by the end of the week. Texas Gov. Abott doubts that will occur.
