6-Year-Old Dies From Possible Carbon Monoxide Poisoning In Gun Barrel City

The Gun Barrel City Police and Fire Departments answered a call to what seemed to be carbon monoxide poisoning in the 1000 block of Garret Lane in Gun Barrel City, Texas.

Officials arrived to the location on November 26, 2022, around 9:03. They then found four people, ages 3, 4, 6, and 28. The 6-year-old was unconscious.

First responders quickly administered life-saving measures to the four people, and they were all transported to a medical facility.

The six-year-old boy died from his injuries. The 3-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy were transferred to Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth. They were listed in critical condition. The 28-year-old woman is expected to survive.

A cause of death is under investigation as the Henderson County Crimes Against Children Taskforce takes the lead in the case.
