6-Year-Old Child Fatally Struck By Intoxicated Driver While Crossing Road In Grand Prairie

A fatal accident occurred on Saturday night, and the Grand Prairie Police Department is now investigating.

On September 10, 2022, close to 8:00 p.m., Grand Prairie Fire/EMS and Police answered to a child hit by a car in the 2700 block of Regency Drive.

Authorities say that the child was crossing Regency Drive in front of the Budget Suites of America when the accident happened. The child was hurt and taken to a medical facility but was later declared deceased a little while later.

A 35-year-old male driver was found to be intoxicated at the time of the incident. He was later apprehended by Grand Prairie police for Intoxication Manslaughter.
