116 pounds of ICE methamphetamine that was worth about $500,000 was discovered in a vehicle by the Baldwin County, Alabama sheriff’s office. The vehicle was being transported on a car hauler on January 18.
According to reports, an officer observed irregularities with a 2003 Ford Expedition being carried. It had Illinois tags. The carrier was stopped on Interstate 10.
When officers looked through the Expedition, they found “drugs in factory voids within the vehicle” which was being taken from Los Angeles to Orlando.
Authorities took the drugs and the Expedition into their possession.
The operator of the car hauler was let go.
Detectives are continuing to investigate where the drugs came from.
