5 Year Old Killed After Being Ejected From Backseat During Multi Vehicle Crash; Driver Charged With Manslaughter

A five year old boy was killed earlier this week in San Antonio after being ejected from a vehicle during a multi vehicle crash.

The crash happened around 5:30 pm on southbound Interstate 10 near West Avenue when the driver of a Nissan Rogue suddenly slammed on their brakes. At that time they were struck from behind by a Hyundai Santa Fe and pushed into another lane where they were struck on the passenger side by a Dodge Ram.

A child that was in the backseat of the Rogue was ejected from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital where he later died. He was not in a car seat and was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Rogue was identified as 22 year old Doan Khanh Thuc Mai. She was arrested and charged with manslaughter.

The child was identified as 5 year old Tony Tran.
