A 5 year old Florida child will not be facing criminal charges after attacking his elementary teacher.
The incident happened Wednesday around 10am at Pines Lakes Elementary in Pembroke Pines.
Two students ages 4 and 5 were throwing things at the teacher and knocking chairs over in the classroom.
The teacher took one of the children to a cool down area where he physically attacked her. She called for backup on the radio and police were also contacted.
When officers arrived they found the teacher against the wall in a dazed stage. She was transported to a local hospital where she was hospitalized.
The teacher had to be intubated and will have to undergo surgery.
Broward Teachers Union President Anna Fusco is representing the teacher that was brutally attacked by the 5 year old.
Fusco says the 5 year old with special needs continued to beat the woman as she was in and out of consciousness. She also said this is not the child’s first time attacking the teacher.
