On Monday, police were investigating five deaths of people who were discovered inside of an apartment in Colorado. Illicit narcotics were also found along with a man and an infant who were alive.
On Sunday afternoon, police responded to a call, regarding someone who was unconscious in Commerce City. Three women and two men were found deceased. A man and a four-month-old baby that were alive were transported to a hospital.
Authorities say that there were no signs of trauma, violence, or harmful gases in the apartment.
Officials have stated that the individuals probably died from accidentally overdosing on fentanyl. Initial tests show that the deceased most likely believed that they were taking cocaine and didn’t know that it had fentanyl inside of it.
The baby didn’t seem to be harmed, and it is unclear if any of the dead were the parents of the child. The adult man who was found alive was said to be coherent and talking to authorities.
The dead individuals haven’t been identified, but it is believed that some of them resided in the apartment.
