4 People Drowned in Denton County Within 24 Hours, Leaving 3 Dead and 1 Still Missing

Searchers responded to four drowning calls at or near Lewisville Lake Tuesday afternoon. Of the four that drowned, three have died and the search continues for the fourth person.

At Little Elm Park at Lake Lewisville, rescuers pulled a body from the water around 5 p.m.. The body was identified as a woman in her 40’s, however, her name has not yet been released.

Less than three hours later a 20-year-old man drowned at Lewisville Lake Park, near Sneaky Pete’s. The man, identified as Wendell Allgood, Jr., was taken to the hospital where he later died.

On Monday evening just north of Lewisville Lake, Aubrey Police requested Lewisville’s Dive Team assistance for a submerged vehicle in a pond. Rescuers recovered a woman’s body and pronounced her deceased. Her name and age has not been yet been released.

Divers are still looking for another likely drowning victim after a wife reported her husband missing at Clear Creek in Denton County Tuesday afternoon. A search was launched right away but had to end due to the water moving too quickly after recent rain.
