On Thursday, the bodies of four men were discovered dumped by a housing development in the Caribbean resort of Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Officials in Quintana Roo stated that it isn’t clear how the men died since no bullet wounds were evident. However, the bodies were found together in shrubs by a service road which indicates a gang-style killing.
This isn’t the first time that an incident like this has occurred. In January, two Canadians were murdered at a resort in Playa del Carmen. This occurred because supposedly there was a debt between international drug and weapons trafficking gang.
Then, in November, just north of Playa del Carmen, a shootout resulted in the death of two suspected drug dealers.
To add, on Thursday, seven bodies were also found in Guanajuato, Mexico’s most violent state. They had been burned and discovered in the back of a pickup truck. That vehicle was located on the side of a road in Celaya with another deceased body close by.
