On Wednesday, 30 people were apprehended by the Dallas Police Department Special Investigations Division as an operation took place to apprehend individuals who were soliciting prostitution in Northwest Dallas.
Not only were those individuals taken into custody, but five firearms and $3,400 in cash were also recovered.
The Northwest Prostitution Task Force and Northwest Crime Reduction Team/Deployment assisted DPD SID with the matter.
Earlier this month, DPD was also involved in another operation regarding prostitution. This happened in Northwest Dallas on Harry Hines Boulevard.
The 30 people arrested on Wednesday are ages 21 to 62.
It is noted that solicitation of prostitution happens when an individual “knowingly offers or agrees to pay a fee to another person for the purpose of engaging in sexual conduct.” This unlawful act is a state felony, but considering other components, can lead to a more serious offense.
