3-Year-Old Girl, Without A Seatbelt On, Dies After Being Ejected From Vehicle That Landed On Top Of Her

On Thursday, 3-year-old Annalise Nava, died in Waco, Texas, after she was thrown from a vehicle following a wreck.

After the child was ejected from the vehicle, the crashed car landed on top of her.

Around 4:20 p.m., someone driving a Chevy Lumina ran a red light and then hit another car. This made both cars strike a third vehicle.

Authorities say that Nava had been riding in the Chevy Lumina without her seatbelt on. She had been thrown from the car.

After the car landed on top of her, bystanders at the scene lifted the vehicle off of the girl prior to attempting life-saving measures.

However, Nava was transported to a medical facility where she died from her wounds.

“Y’all need to make sure you buckle those kids because that was an innocent baby,” stated CreCre Evans on a Facebook post. She was one of the people who helped in lifting the car off of the 3-year-old.

Texas law requires that children younger than eight or smaller than 4 feet 9 inches tall be placed in a secured child safety seat.

No charges have been filed at this time, and an investigation is ongoing.
